Not everyone understands the bold career path you can forge in the hair industry. We’re looking for fearless and passionate creatives who know they have the drive to create a career out of hairstyling! The goal in our cosmetology program is not to teach students how to give a haircut, but rather the techniques and formulas that will allow them to bring any vision they have for their clients to life! We want our students to feel confident that they can meet the needs and desires of any client who sits in their chair.
We also have a particular passion for teaching hair coloring. So much so that we have a one-of-a-kind color program designed exclusively for our school by celebrity colorist Dianne Degnan! After working with celebrities like Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Halle Bailey, Dianne joined our team in 2020 and is helping students learn Hollywood level hair coloring techniques.

Our Cosmetology Program
At Hair Arts Institute, our school has a nurturing and supportive educational environment and is also purposely designed to run like a salon. From the start of your education, we want you to know what working with clients will be like. You’ll not only learn the hard skills of haircutting and hairstyling, but also the business skills you’ll need to succeed in the industry. We teach you how to attract and retain clients and when you graduate you’ll take all your clients and their info with you!
We have a phenomenal student-to-teacher ratio that we believe is a big part of building confidence in our students with personalized mentorship and support. Our program covers various topics, including hair styling, cutting, coloring, salon management, and more. Along with your education we provide you with a safe and positive environment where you can be inspired to be your best self.

Individual Progression
In our learning environment, students have the freedom to progress through their studies autonomously, allowing them to grasp concepts and achieve milestones individually. At the beginning of our program, our students will grasp techniques and proceed to the next one only after successfully mastering the previous. This tailored approach to education ensures that each student can flourish at their unique rhythm, promoting a deeper understanding of the material, while still completing the program by their graduation date. An Exclusive Coloring Curriculum
Meet celebrity colorist and Hair Arts Institute team member, Dianne Degnan! Dianne trained in London in 1999 where she worked in the Sassoon Covent Garden Salon. After moving to Los Angeles in 2003, Dianne became an educator and also worked in San Francisco and Beverly Hills. Dianne has worked with celebrities like Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Halle Bailey. Dianne created an exclusive color program that you’ll only find at Hair Arts Institute in 2020! A Career in Cosmetology
As a student, you’ll also receive classroom training on how to write a resume, complete an employment application, and prepare for an effective interview. Our cosmetology program also emphasizes salon-like experience by working with real clients under the supervision of a licensed professional. We know the ultimate goal of your education is to be able to build your clientele. You don’t have to wait until you’re graduated to start! We work to help our students build their book of business and allow them to take all their clients and their information with them when they graduate our cosmetology program.
Cosmetology Program FAQs
Our cosmetology program is 1250 hours, meaning you could be licensed in as little as eight months.
To have a great educational experience, you need to place yourself in the right environment with the right people to give you the best chance at success. We believe the best way to determine if our program is right for you is to come walk through our campus, meet our team and see what your day-to-day as a student could be like.
